353Days ShezPhoto #13 Mt Hood Oregon

Mt Hood Jan 13, 2012

Mt. Hood looked spectacular this afternoon as we drove home from work. We stopped so I could take a couple of pictures. Mt. Hood is desperate for snow, this is the way it usually looks in November. The melting snow pack each summer provides drinking water for the valley and the electricity for Oregon and much of California. Rain in the valley equates to snow pack on the mountains. Without our normal rain in the winter , we will be conserving water this summer.
