345Days ShezPhoto #21 Garden Shed Door Latch

The Latch

The latch on the garden shed door caught my attention. I liked the look of the lock and the different grains that show in the cedar boards. This little shed sits by the walkway. It looks like it belongs there, not like it was added, but as if it were always there.

It has a cottage feel to it and when I walk past it, it makes me think of older days when our lives were more calm and simple.

In truth our lives have never been all that calm and simple and we built it from a kit. A place to put the garden stuff, the patio stuff in the winter, the extra pots, potting soil. It is home to an assortment of tools, rakes, shovels, spades and the lawn mower.

So why does it grip me as I walk by, beckoning me to sit a spell and dream? Does it make everyone feel that way, or is it just me?
