322Days #44 Winter Vines and Thornes

First I must apologize, the post you saw today was actually my post for Feb 12, but the clock ticked a minute past midnight…so there are two today. This is Feb 13, 2012 photo.

Hardy Blackberry Leaves Winter Over

The Himalayan Blackberry is a very hardy plant. It drops most of it leaves in the winter but a few turn a deep mahogany brown with burgundy stems and they tenaciously hang on to their deep red vines. This is twined over the reddish-orange Hawthorne twigs and seem unconcerned with the huge black tipped red Hawthorne thorns.

They are two of a kind, the outside beauty camouflaging  the dangers of their thorns.
