315Days #51 Sky Fires

Nothing like getting a different perspective of sunset when you are cruising at 32 thousand feet. And because we were heading west, the sunset, though ever-changing lasted for 20 minutes. The only difficulty…you can’t open the window and shooting through two panes of dirty windows rather prevents a good ability to focus. It was a good thing my daughter was sitting beside me, she was patient with me leaning over her to get to the window.

Eye In The Sky

Flames licking upward

The clouds appear to erupt almost like a volcano.

The sun sinks lower, the sky gets redder

At 32K feet, the sun reflects on the wing and in the plane windows

For the finale: the layers of clouds and sky with the sun below the horizon.

This series is justified simply because it is most likely a phenomena I will not have the opportunity to re-shoot.  These are the ones I liked best. Considering the obstacles in my way to capture all the beauty, these turned out okay. They pale in comparison to the actual ever changing beauty of the display. It truly took my breath away.
