303Days #63Bemis Hall
Colorado College is a lovely campus. The architecture of the different buildings could keep me busy for days. This is just one of many buildings on campus. There are many churches, mansions, and old buildings in perfect shape built in the late 1800s. The area shows the influence of Spanish, Mexican, Native Indian and European history and culture. It is a beautiful collection of amazing architecture.
This photo was taken in mid February 2012. Everything is golden colored grass and the sun is in a clear blue sky. Though it looks warm, do not be fooled. It was in the teens most of the time and warming into the very low thirties only for a while. Even though it snowed at night, the air is so dry it evaporates quickly.
I wonder if the reason we get so many stunning photos when we are on vacation is because we see everything with “new” eyes. The sights we see day in and day out loose their appeal for yet another photo when I think about how many times I have captured the same image time and again through every type of weather, morning, noon and night, from a distance, up close and macro versions. Getting away is a good thing. 😀
