202Days #164 Slug Bug

I promised you the pictures from my puzzle. This was on display at DIA aka Denver International Airport. There is a story that goes with it…

…unfortunately it was all written in Spanish and my Spanish is terrible. What I did gather was it was a commemorative piece to bring attention to a 1840 war?  or other event in the hills somewhere in central Mexico. These may not actually be what the time line and maps were all pointing out but it was what I interpreted when the words were harder than taco and salsa.

I did think it said this Bug was entirely hand painted over about a ten-year span of time by one person. The vast number of tiny brush strokes must have counted in the millions. The design and precision were amazing. Even the interior of the car was upholstered in what appeared to be hand embroidered wool.

With all the intricate detail and bright colors it was quite the unique and colorful sight and obviously a labor of love.

And with that I wish you the joy of spending your days doing something you love.

Cheers,

Shez
