163/162Days #203/204 No Glass
It’s still Sunday where I am on the west coast. But yesterday it was not still Saturday when I finally sat down to my computer. So I made a sad but sane decision to cry on your shoulder today and see if you have any sympathy for moi.
A week ago Saturday I acted on my compulsion and decided to “paint” a graphic to print, mat and frame for the guest room. I spent from early morning until late but finished it that day. I got so into it that I forgot to eat, breakfast, lunch and dinner. By the time I remembered, I was famished but it was too late to cook any of the meals so I settled for an amazing desert of vanilla ice cream covered in piles of fresh strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. Topped with whip cream. The berries were all from our garden and it finished a long but joyful day.
Here is my first ever from scratch drawing.
I know it’s not world-class art, but it has all the elements in color and shade that the bedroom needed. It was much more fun than going out to find the right piece in the right size and the right price.
Yesterday, my last post for the week of “glass” was to be a photo of this work framed under glass. But that was before my printer decided I could not print a piece of paper that is 11″ x 28.” After several attempts and my canvas coming out with a section out of the middle, printed at one end, I figured before I wasted any more canvas I best turn this piece into a diptych. (Okay I don’t know how to spell that WordPress to the rescue and I would make it into two pieces.) It was past midnight by the time I had successfully printed them and cut the mat board to fit and mounted the two prints. It was at that point I knew it was too late to post anything and I was tired and bed was calling.
Of course these were to be shared in the frame under the glass, but instead you get a cell phone photo of them with NO glass. I hope they do have class…
The dryer is telling me it’s time to fold more clothes. If I can do that and shower in the next 11 minutes, I’ll be in bed before midnight.
Cheers,
Shez
I love this. It’s beautiful.
Thank you. You are so kind. It was great fun. 😀
Beautiful Shez!!!! Really arty!!! &only strawberries & ice-cream?? – Aijajai!!! 😉 **
Thank you so much. It was fun.
And not JUST strawberries. There were also fresh blueberries and raspberries. I should post the photo I took. But then I’d want to have more and the berries are gone until next year.
