85Days #281Weathered Barn

The old wooden barn from a different angle that shows the original red color.

The old barn originally was red. The weather and the decades have nearly stripped the paint completely from the barn leaving the weathered wood unprotected.

I love old barns. I wish they could be preserved and repurposed. The sunlight coming through the roof and the sagging of the walls is telltale evidence that restoring this old beauty would require it to taken apart and started from scratch with a foundation. The original board and batten siding could be reused…if only the owner had an unlimited supply of ready cash to start such a project. Just pulling permits… ’nuff said.

Cheers to preserving history one photo at a time,

Shez
