87Days #279 Ruby Red Basil

Basil was grown in mixed pots of flowers or vegetables

Our experiment of adding edibles to pots of flowers and to pots of tomatoes was successful.

Ruby Red Basil is not just beautiful but very tasty.

This basil is known as Ruby Red. It is a beautiful addition to any mixed pot. Not just beautiful but delicious.

Two similar but different views of one stem of the basil plant. I loved the subtle lime green edges on the deep purple plant. Used in alternating pattern with a standard green basil made Tomatoes Caprice not just delicious, but almost artistic. Remember we also had different colored tomatoes on the plate. This particular plant shared the pot with a delicious green basil, parsley and four large tomato plants. Everything thrived.

Cheers to vegetables and herbs in delicious new colors,

Shez
