80 Days #286 Dahlia Mystic Enchantment

Dahlia Mystic Enchantment

Dahlia Mystic Enchantment

I posted other photos of this plant a few days ago. A fellow blogger friend asked what they were. I had no idea but wanted to know. I figured a few calls to the city since it grew in a city garden I would have my answer. But my blog friend thought they might be dahlias because of this years weather they bloomed late. She found them and sent a link to some wonderful double petaled dahlias with the same dark leaves.

Now knowing they were dahlias it didn’t take me long to find that these are Dahlias of the Mystic variety. The following link will take you to the beautiful Mystic Spirit which are wonderful peach colored dahlias that I saw in different city street garden.

From this link you can select the other luscious colors from the left side bar. The lovely yellow ones bloomed in a median just a few blocks from our house.

I must confess I tried to bring out the detail of the petals with a bit of Photoshop magic. I was surprised that even in the shade the intense red blew the color. Perhaps a filter might have helped.

If you enjoy gardens and beautiful flowers, the link above will have you dreaming of your landscape next year, while you are out in the wind and rain raking the leaves this weekend.

Cheers to dreams,

Shez
