54Days #312 Rain, Deluge, Flood

Interesting how nature keeps changing my planned posts. Yesterday we had rain. And more rain. And not just a little rain, lots of rain. The storm drains were gushing water up, the roads were being closed due to high water and poor visibility. Parking lots looked like lakes. Storm ditches at the side of the roads ran over their banks and made people think is was a very wide wet road. They weren’t there were still ditches full of water. So I am posting a few pictures from yesterday afternoon.

The landscaper is not blowing leaves, he's blowing water.

The landscaper at work.

While I was watching the landscaper it looked more like he was attacking the parking lot with a fire hose than a leaf blower.

Even the landscapers decided to call it quits during this period of rain.

The landscapers took a long break during this period of rain with the wind. The wind whipping at 45 mph was no match for the leaf blowers.

A full size truck bursts through the standing water.

A full size truck blasts through the standing water. At this point the water was bubbling up out of the flooded storm drains.

View from inside a car with the spray and rain.

From inside a car, this was visibility. Only lights and reflections as the pounding rain and wind were too big a force for the wipers.

Rain soaked and wind blown the leaves pile onto the wet sidewalk.

The rain continued off an on all night, but the sun just tried to break through in the past few minutes for a little reprieve. The wind is just a gentle breeze at this second.

Cheers to rain breaks,

Shez

Loved the photos but hate when too much weather happens and eats away at the soil and lives 😦
