23Days #343 Snowy Shores

Snow on the shoreline of a river.

The end of the steep grade took us around and bend and onto a bridge across a small river.

We had passed many huge trucks with 53 foot trailers on the back in the ditch along both sides of the road. There were large 4-wheel drive trucks also crashed along the edge and into the ditch, and a smaller 4×4 that had rolled and was severely crashed that only made us hope the driver was okay.

The steep down grade with the curve at the bottom across this bridge was actually the end of the most treacherous part of our trip. It was about 25 total miles and had taken over two hours to crawl our way safely through.

The river with the fresh snow was beautiful, cold and peaceful looking. It was definitely a deep breath, “whew” moment as we knew the rest of the trip was flat land and people were driving very carefully.

Cheers to safe journeys,

Shez
