The First Weekly Post 1/52
This little guy is just too cute not to share. Sitting among the bright ornaments on this silly outdoor tree (it looks great a night) his colors are accented by the colors on the tree.
His fuchsia head feathers gleam in the sunlight. It is chilly, so he’s puffed out his body feathers and only a pinch of green is shinning.
This photos were taken on January 1, 2013. It was a beautiful day, waking up with grandkids and family coming and going as the day stretched before us. It was a wonderful day.
This guy has figured out who fills the feeders and her decided it was okay for me to get a bit closer. Jan 1 was a bird watcher’s feast. Within a fifteen minute period of time a flock for black headed chickadees, chestnut backed chickadees, chestnut winged nut hatches, song sparrows, brown finches, black-eyed Juncos, a flicker, a couple of blue jays had all visited. The diner was full and the waiting list grew quite long.
Getting photos of the birds was so difficult. They come and go so quickly they keep the feeder swinging and some of them only hit and run, spending less than a second at the feeder. But having mentioned that I do have two more photos that I grabbed before someone was hungry and needed to be fed, as in kids and breakfast.
I hope you enjoyed the birds that came to wish us a Happy New Year.
And with that I want to thank all of you for taking the time to follow my photo blog project. I love your comments and the fact that you keep coming back. It has been a great year to make so many new friends and to visit so many new and exciting places through your photos. You made my year.
Cheers to friends,
Shez
I love that you have hummingbirds all through the winter. What a treat.
Me, too. I love having them around. They are most amazing fearless little creatures. A true joy, however they do scold me when they need to have the feeders filled. 😉
